Large commercial work is one area where a truckmount's additional capacity can be particularly useful.

Hotels, restaurants, offices and other large premises can involve huge areas of carpet.

When hundreds or thousands of square metres need to be cleaned, speed becomes extremely important. A truckmount can provide continuous vacuum and solution delivery without needing to empty tanks or work around the limitations of a portable machine.

The ability to use very long hose runs can also make large commercial buildings considerably easier to clean.

For this type of work, the investment in a truckmount can make perfect sense.

It's About Choosing the Right Equipment

Neither type of machine is automatically the better choice for every property.

The better question is "Which is more appropriate for this job?"

A truckmount is a superb piece of equipment, but so is a good professional portable machine.

For a domestic carpet cleaner, the ability to move the machine to the property, deal with difficult access and still have plenty of vacuum power can be more useful than having a machine capable of running 250 feet of hose.

For a large hotel or restaurant, the situation is completely different.

Matching the Machine to the Job

For typical domestic work, a suitable professional portable machine can provide the performance needed without the access requirements of a truckmount.

A compact portable can be useful where stairs or restricted access make larger equipment impractical. For very large commercial premises, continuous operation and long hose runs may make a truckmount more efficient.

Ultimately, good carpet cleaning isn't about owning the biggest or most expensive machine. It's about understanding the equipment you have, knowing how to use it properly and choosing the right machine for the job.
