How long does a carpet take to dry?

Different fibre and carpet types will take different amounts of time to dry but most carpets are dry in a few hours.

Can all stains be removed?

Unfortunately not. Sometimes the fibres have been re-dyed by the stain. Using a DIY carpet cleaner before I visit can make a stain that could have been removed permanent.

Will the carpet shrink?

It is very unlikely. Most carpets won't shrink at all. Those that can, typically woven Axminster or Wiltons, need to be well fitted with good gripper strips round the edge and the moisture levels controlled. I have never shrunk a carpet.

I've hired a carpet cleaning machine. Why does my carpet smell?

These typically can't remove enough water. If the carpet stays damp for too long it can get musty and start to smell. My machinery recovers almost all the water allowing for quicker drying times.

Do you move furniture?

Within reason, yes. Sofas and armchairs are usually quite easy to move around but large TV cabinets or sideboards less so.

Are the cleaning products safe?

I only use premium cleaning products which are safe for the home. I can supply a datasheet if you have any concerns.

Are you insured?

Yes, my insurance covers the items being worked on, not just basic public liability.
